Information system manager will be in charge of overall coordination of the training program. The preparation and training will involve approximately 1500 hospital employees and physicians. Information system manager will inform the target audience about the importance of the training for the organization. The manager will use email circulars, and memos to inform the target audience about the training program.

The venues for the training will be the training centers of the St. Joseph Hospitals. Since St. Joseph Hospital has centers scattered across the United States, the organization will use satellite to diffuse training instructions to all locations. Moreover, the hospital will connect all the training centers with wide area network (WAN), which will assist the organization to diffuse the training resources online.

The costs of implementing the training program will be approximately $1.5 Million and the training program will last for approximately 6 months, which will start from January 15, 2013 and end by July 15, 2013. The organization will develop a database program that would be used for a record keeping. The database will store patient's medical history, office visits, physician notes, prescribed medications, diagnostic tests, and other key information in an electronic format. The EHR will also be used to store clinical documentation, medication administration, patient scheduling and registration, patient billing and messaging to patients.

External evaluator will determine the extent the training program has been able to enhance the performances of employees. External evaluator will also use the overall financial performances to determine the extent the training program has been able to assist the hospital to increase profitability.

Reinforcement

The company will use financial incentives to generate positive reinforcement to improve the desired behaviour. The organization will increase the bonus of well performing employees as well as increasing the salary of well performing employees. The strategy will assist the organization to enhance the positive behavior. The strategy will also assist the organization to discourage employee to desist from negative behavior.

Conclusion

EHR has become a strategic tool that health organizations employ to achieve competitive market advantages. The project provides the training plan for the EHR that St. Joseph hospital has recently launched. The training plan will take approximately 6 months to complete, and St. Joseph Hospital will be able to deliver a quality healthcare service after the completion of the training.
