[EXCERPT] . . . .

(Saliba, 2004) (Neusner, 2009)

Religious leaders play an important part in the process through offering understanding and support. This is when they will listen to the person and let them know they had the best of intentions. Yet, it was others who were seeking to take advantage of them. While this is occurring, they will discuss what can be learned and how it can help them in the future. This is the point the individual will become dedicated to mainstream religions in order to find support. In this case, one could argue that understanding and exploiting these vulnerabilities will identify people who are supportive of mainstream religious ideals. This is achieved by reaching out to those who are disillusioned with various sects and are looking for new avenues to grow. (Saliba, 2004) (Neusner, 2009)

Evaluation

Clearly, new religions are important in shaping modern theological doctrine. This is taking place by providing them with individuals who are dedicated and support fundamentalist ideals. After they are in a sect for a while, is when these beliefs become more liberal and they will start to embrace mainstream theological ideas. This is because they are questioning and shifting their views.

Saliba believes that religious leaders can play a significant role by offering psychological and social support. This will help everyone to see the long-term benefits of these experiences and how they can be used to make a positive contribution in the future. When this happens, they will feel more empowered and open to these changes. As a result, this approach will shift religious doctrine with more people embracing the ideals of Christianity.
