Hans Tech Company is a business organization that intends to implement network system to offer high quality service to its customers in order to become a leader within it industry. Presently, the company is enjoying high customer patronage within the industry making the company to enjoy comparative market advantages. The increase in the market advantages makes Hans Tech management to expand the business operations and opening another branch at Chicago in Illinois. Since the company headquarter is based in New York, the existing technology could no longer accommodate the current expansion. This project designs the latest technology that will assist Hans Tech to enjoy unparallel network advantages as well as high speed network connectivity between the headquarter and other location that the company is operating. The document will consist of LAN and WAN technology that will have a considerable bandwidth

to satisfy the business growth. The documents also provide the appropriate network security for LAN and WAN technology through the integration of firewall. (Khalil, Hand, & Mariswamy 1995).

1.2: Current Technical Constraint

The technical constraint facing the company is to decide the appropriate strategy that could be used to design network system which would accommodate the headquarter and new center without experience the network failure. The existing network LAN (Local Area Network) infrastructure will not be able to accommodate the two centers. Typically, LAN is a computer network that spans across relatively small area. (IBM, 2010). The existing LAN technology used for the network system seems to be working fine; however, the network capacity is tool low to accommodate the current expansion. Typically, the company is concerned to have LAN at every center and the LAN should be able to provide scalable, flawless and reliable network connectivity. More importantly, the company is concerned about the WAN (Wide Area Network). At present, the company has not yet integrated effective and efficient WAN technology that could connect two centers. Since the company intends to keep pace with modern technology, the company will upgrade the network system that would offer high QoS (quality of service). (Murhammer et al., 1999).

1.3: Existing Network System

The existing network system within the company headquarter is experiencing a slow down because of the current expansion that the company is enjoying. Within the last 5 years, the company has recorded an increase in the number of employees. Between 2008 and 2012, the company has increased the number of employees working within the company without increasing the capacity of the network system. The number of employees has increased from 200 to 300 employees. Thus, the company needs additional token ring LANs and network routes to increase the capacity of the network system. The basic design makes up of the backbone that consists of seven Cisco 2613 routers. The router utilizes the 100 BASE-T4 transmission media. There are 4-server farm that distributed among 7 Cisco 2613 routers with the capacity of 616 mbps Token-ring LANs for end user and 6 as/400's per ring with 16 mbps Token-rings. The as/400's are currently providing redundancy to the company network system. The company network system consists of 6 end user LANs. The 3 of the LANs are being utilized by the corporate and product designed management. The remaining company 3 LANs is unable to provide redundancy that could be utilized by the company business units such as corporate marketing, sales and accounting department. Typically, each of the 6 LANs within the company has workstations, varieties of servers and printers. Meanwhile, the company has established internet connection through external ISP (Internet Service Provider) and the connection is established through a Cisco 2613 router. The internet router that distributes the connection assists in providing the inbound network traffic and the company networked the internet router to Cisco 2613 backbone routers along a 100 BASE-T4 connection.

Despite the benefits that the existing network provides to the company, the LAN configuration does not have enough capacity to serve the company network system to achieve a scalable and efficient network system. The paper provides the current network maps that contains both LAN and WAN for the company to enhance greater understanding of the company new network system.

1.4: Network Maps both LAN and WAN maps

BestLink Communication will assist Hans Tech Company to establish the entire network system and the design of the network system will be in accordance with designed methodology in order to support the company expanding network infrastructure.

Fig 2: Proposed Chicago Network Diagram

The strategy is to enhance the seamless network integration, redundancy, easy management and load balancing. The new network will provide the required network system that will assist the company to achieve network connectivity for day-to-day business operations. BestLink will establish the WAN connectivity through the Private IP (PIP) to achieve WAN connectivity between New York center and Chicago Center. Typically, the WAN connectivity will be sustained through the carrier-provisioned router. BestLink will install Cisco 6509 Multi-layer Catalyst Switch as well as Cisco 7507. Typically, the Cisco 7507 will consist of 4-Slot Chassis that will assist Hans Tech to support the multi-protocol, multimedia as well as connecting LAN interface over WAN technology. Typically, the integration of Cisco 7507 will assist the company to keep with the latest technology development and the system will allow the company to remove or replace port adapter without interrupting the network connectivity. "The system will also provide the power redundancy to maintain power within the system in case of power interruption," (Cisco 2011 P1).

The WAN technology for Hans Tech will consist of 155 Mbit/s OC-3 circuit, which will be positioned within the BestLink's MPLS (PIP Multi-protocol Label Switching) environment. BestLink will also integrate a 45 Mbit/s DS3 circuit that will assist in enhancing the backup connectivity to the:

New York Data Center

Chicago Data Center.

The Network connectivity will be established within the virtual mess that will connect the two centers through the cloud. The BestLink Communication will manage the 7507 service router which will be located at Gigabit Interface 5/2, and the connection will be configured and route through the interface a/30 subnet which will be assigned to Router on G0/1 and G0/3 sequentially.

The company will establish the network connection by connecting the LANs of the two centers over WAN. The Cisco 7507 router will be used to establish connection through the core 6509E switch and dual copper Gigabit in order to establish Ethernet connection for the company. The Gigabit Ethernet will be connected to the port 5/2, and the redundant links will be configured as / 30 subnets and layers 3 will be assigned to each of the usable IP address.

To achieve WAN and LAN routing protocol, the company will select (EIGRP) Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol as the routing protocol that would be connected to each site. The EIGRP routing will be linked to the BestLink WAN router, and BestLink will manage the backup router at each of the center. The BestLink WAN routers will integrate / 16 into the BGP. (Guillen, & Chacon, 2009).

The BestLink will also implement Cisco 6509E at each of the New York and Chicago center, and the LAN segment of each site will be connected to the MDF (Main Distribution Frame) and Cisco 3560E/3750E switches. There would be a connection of WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) to the WLC (Wireless LAN Controller) to achieve easy access. The company will also integrate the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) to maintain uninterrupted network connection in case of power failure. (Se Fig 1 and Fig 2 for LAN and WAN Map).

1.5: Current Address and Naming Scheme

A good address and naming scheme is very critical for the network server, and client computers. The company will provide the logical naming scheme for all the network system to assist the organization to quickly remember the hardware integrated to achieve the network system. For easy identification, the company will name the company network system by following abbreviations in the Table 1:
