Alex, Nike and Chris is a large organization with strong commitment to "doing right." In Kava, ANC can start by first introducing quality yet affordable healthcare services to the people in the form of a large healthcare organization which is committed to providing quality healthcare to all sections of the society especially the most deprived ones.

In order to establish a strong presence on the island of Kava, Nik's company, Alex, Nike and Chris needs to focus on the needs of the people on the island. This is the only way they can generate strong support for their projects and gain people's trust. If people can see how the presence of an organization will add to their quality of life, they will be more than willing to support their programs and help out where they can. It must be understood that help from the locals is seriously needed when entering a new country and establishing a presence. This can only be done by communicating to the people why the new projects are needed and how they provide benefits to the country and its people. For example if ANC decides to work on bringing in better healthcare services to Kava, they need to communicate their plans to people in a way that would generate most support from government as well as local businesses. A lot needs to be taken into account before any decisions can be implemented because decision implementation is affected by host of factors.

The few factors that would affect decision implementation at ANC would include:

These are just some of the factors but they are the critical ones. ANC first needs to consider cost issues. How much will it cost to provide quality yet affordable healthcare services to the people of Kava? To establish a healthcare organization, there are host of other issues involved such as recruitment of doctors and nurses, investing in advanced technology, purchasing property at most strategically sound location and so on.

Once these decisions have been taken, the organization also needs to consider resistance to change that can come from within and outside the company. When within, it can come from other employees in the form of their lack of commitment or inability to understand why such project is needed in the first place. They may not feel threatened or insecure about their jobs but might not be willing to relocate to Kava if needed because they do not understand why a strong presence in Kava is required.

The resistance that comes from outside the organization can come from the people of Kava who may become skeptical of a foreign concern's interest in their country. With people haunted by years of imperialism in many parts of the world, foreign investment and interest are always viewed with certain degree of caution, concern and skepticism.
