The highlight of the project was that it built curriculum design capabilities of clinicians and students, which can sustain this alternative model of online learning (Fitzgerald, Wong, Hannon, Solberg Tokerud & Lyons, 2013, p. 1230).

Although synchronous communication was utilized for online tutoring, it can also be used for assessment. An inclusion of a satisfaction and ease of usability survey may be useful in notifying instructors if their content is easy and simple to follow.

Part 3

Data collection informs course improvement in several ways, firstly it allows for assessment of efficacy. If students notify instructors that they are having a difficult time learning something, they can then utilize the information (instructors) to modify the curriculum for the class or for the specific student. It becomes a more hands on approach to addressing any possible concerns students may have when it comes to curriculum.

Secondly, data collection helps instructors tailor their curriculum for future classes so it can be more cohesive. It allows for additional transparency between student and instructor because the instructor can see what the students require and the students feel more aware of their options. Motivation plays a big part in productivity. Data collection helps promote productivity because of the additional transparency and option for modification.

Lastly, data collection promotes active participation on both the part of the student and the instructor. There is increased communication between student and instructor. This leads to higher levels of trust and back and forth which promotes learning, growt
