[EXCERPT] . . . .
Further, the government could seek to increase tax collection without necessarily increasing the tax burden. In my own opinion, this can be done through a number of approaches including sealing off unfair tax loopholes. This can be reinforced by the identification of new revenue streams so that sources of funds to finance the needs identified are in one way or the other stabilized. Conclusion
In conclusion, it can be noted that when it comes to the national health care spending, there are a number of issues that need to be addressed urgently. This includes challenges the nation faces as far as financing the growing cost of health care is concerned going forward. This is in addition to the existing need to improve health care quality and efficiency which calls for significant investments in research, education as well as performance incentives. Hence in the light of all these, hard decisions must be made on what should be considered a priority and what should not. This approach could come in handy when deliberating on where cuts or additions in regard to spending should be made. When it comes to containing raising national health care expenditures, it should be noted that though some approaches may bring down spending levels, the same approaches may not have an impact at all on the rate of growth.
