National Budget Stimulation

The debate over the National Budget has spurred much controversy. Many believe that we are spending too much on foreign wars, and leaving our citizens at home to suffer through a massive recession. That is why I choose to cut much of the overseas military budget in an effort to allocate more funds towards domestic policies and principles. The people of this nation are wavering their faith, it is time that the government stepped up and showed its protection and devotion for their interests. This budget rescheduling is all about regaining the public's trust.

The first step in my budget plan was to decrease overall military spending, in terms of operations overseas. I cut 30% for operation, and 30% for procurement. This will help allocate billions of dollars for more domestic purposes, but still allowing the military campaign to continue, just in a much more regulated way. However, I chose an increase 10% salaries for military personnel to take care of them. We have too many veterans in need at home, and all service personnel should be taken care of for their service. Thus, there was an increase vet services by 10%. The country already has strong programs for its vets, so it doesn't need too much of an increase, but we need to ensure that those who fought for our protection are taken care of. I chose to keep the military research and development budget at around the same, for it is important to keep us updated on the most recent technologies and defenses in case we have to use them to protect our nation's soil. I also cut military operation budget in Iraq and Afghanistan by 30%. Yet I increased 10% for reconstruction aid. With troops supposedly pulling out of Iraq, the budget there can be slashed. The only funds directed towards that area specifically should be aid for reconstruction.

This nation has also recently seen a huge decrease in reputation from foreign areas. Thus, I increased International affairs and also humanitarian assistance increase at 10%. We need to help rebuild our reputation abroad and increasing our humanitarian efforts would help. I also chose to keep the foreign information and exchange activities the same. Right now the value of the dollar is low, so increasing these activities would have little positive impact in terms of a return on investment for the nation.

Additionally, there has been a recent surge to find renewable energy sources. With traditional oil and coal sources running low, it is imperative that this country first regulates our energy usage, and then moves forward in finding cleaner sources for our massive energy demands. With this in mind, I increased the dept of energy budget by 20% and national science foundation programs by 10%. We need clean renewable energy. Additionally, we need ways to help regulate our energy usage as is. Thus, my budget plan called for a 20% increase in energy conservation and preparedness and a 20% increase in energy conservation regulation to ensure new sources are clean and keep companies under strict regulations during operation. Space can hold off, so cut that budget by 10%. There are more important terrestrial matters that must come first in terms of funding. Transportation is also a key role within this budget plan. We must find ways to keep car numbers down and increase the use of public transportation. Thus, I chose to keep highways the same, for it has been working sufficiently, and instead increase spending on mass transit by 10% to try and get more cars off the road and reduce our carbon footprint. I wanted the same increase for railroads, air, and water transportation to help spur those industries. Airlines will especially need it with the recent recession plunging them near bankruptcy. The more funding these industries have, the more cars will be off the road. They need funding for new developments that will help the nature of transportation in this country.

Our land is precious, and with state budgets cutting conservation programs, it is important to keep up a robust national conservation program to help protect our nation's national treasures. Therefore increase in conservation and land management, recreational parks and services, as well as pollution and abatement. Holding agricultural even will keep the industry going strong without straining budget resources to tight.

After being hit by natural disasters and a recession, it is clear that increased spending on community rebuilding is necessary. We need to rebuild communities struck down by recession and natural disasters. Thus, there was an increase community development by 20%, area and regional by 10%, and disaster relief by 10%. In the event of another Katrina, this nation must be prepared. Another disaster like the FEMA disaster could spell a permanent distrust for the government in times of crisis.

Education is another area which has been hit hard by the recent recession. States all over the country have forfeited millions of dollars of their education budgets in order to pay for other programs and reduce deficits. So, it is important to have a robust federal one to help ease the load of the states. Thus, there was a 10% increase of all educational programs within this budget rescheduling.

It is also important that we prepare for a better future. Thus, training and employment resources will be increased by 10%. However, I will keep law and statistics the same in order to open up new funds for other areas within this genre. There will be a 10% increase for unemployment -- with rising unemployment we need to ensure protection during the recession. This nation is seeing some of the greatest numbers of unemployed in decades. In order to help ensure these people get through the recession, unemployment services must be increased. This will also help rebuild the faith many Americans have within their government.

Another major crisis in today's America is the health crisis. Millions of Americans have no health insurance. Therefore, I chose to increase Medicaid grants, state children's health insurance, Indian health, substance abuse and mental health services. Also, there was a 10% increase in disease control, and health research and training to help prevent pandemics and other threats to the health of Americans today. Additionally, I planned a 10% hospital insurance and SMI (supplementary medical insurance) to help protect those who are uninsured in the event of a tragedy or illness. I also cut prescription drug benefits by 10%. We have amazing new breakthrough generic drugs, therefore funding does not need to go to paying for non-generic drugs.

In order to restore faith in the system, plans for retirement must be increased in order to protect those who will soon end their careers within the working world. Thus, I will increase general retirement by 10% but keep federal benefits the same -- most federal employees are well taken care of. Additionally, an increase aid to low-income families, because they need it now more than ever. I also chose a 10% increase for housing assistance, food stamps, other nutritional programs, low income family support payments, child care funds, and other aid, along with an increase of 10% to child support and family support & social and family services. America's future rests in the hands of our youth, and if they loose hope, there is little the government can do to regain it. We must protect the interests and lives of our children above all else.

Although we need protection, inflated law enforcement budgets have seen little positive results. Therefore I implemented a decrease federal law enforcement by 10%.
