Instead of getting to know fellows in themselves, they understood their fellows as they correlated with one another (i.e., their in-relatedness with other Nayaka). Via cumulative experiences, Nayaka sensed one another as dividuated persons, each having a relatively unchanging method of interacting with fellows against the comparative change with regard to their shared engagement. For instance, Nayaka speakers typically described their fellows according to how they behaved in relation to themselves (e.g., "Mathen who is an attentive listener," "Mathen who jokes a lot," etc., with Mathen being a widely-used personal name in the community)[footnoteRef:16].
