Analysis is critical and provides new or creative ways to think about material or topic, thereby emphasizing the sociological imagination when thinking about the problem or issue. Analysis also does well in connecting the social issue or problem with the larger social, historical contexts and in highlighting awareness of diversity along race, class, and/or gender within theme.

Logic and debate: Ideas in paper flow logically; argument(s) is identifiable, reasonable, and sound. When needed, ***** successfully counters alternate arguments on the topic, especially with use of external connections in examples.
