Kant considers beauty to be objective by examining it based on subjective feelings despite the universal validity it possesses. Therefore, if beauty was considered as an objective property of some objects in nature, it would generate concerns on how the objects were granted this beauty, which would play into the hands of those with argument from design. The consideration of beauty from the perspective of subjective feeling shows that Kant is determined to avoid assertions that beauty is bestowed from design.

Kant supports his critique by arguing that judgment is important because forms the mediating connection between theoretical and practical philosophical inquiry. In essence, judgment plays an important role in these two crucial branches of philosophical inquiry. By elevating his concerns to examine judgments into art and beauty, Kant seemingly attempts to answer the question on the significant differences between what is tangible and what ought to be as noted by other philosophers. While arguing that theoretical and practical philosophical inquiries have varying topics, Kant states that they seemingly rely on very similar sensible nature. In this case, theoretical branch of philosophical inquiry is based on cognition of sensible nature whereas practical philosophical inquiry relies on the likelihood of moral action in sensible nature, which demonstrates their basis on similar sensible nature despite differences in topics.

Following his comprehensive examination of these concepts, Kant makes several conclusions that are historically and presently significant. First, aesthetic judgments are not necessarily conceptual since they demonstrate the link between representation and disinterestedness. Secondly, despite being linked to obligations of universal agreement, aesthetic judgments tend to be singular proclamations. Third, aesthetic objects are seemingly excellent regardless of being misunderstood as functionally purposeful.
