I am doing a research proposal on stigma surrounding my depression. We will hand out 100 surveys of which I will provide below. 25 surveys will go to non-psych majors and they will receive the female scenario and 25 will go to non-psych majors and they will receive the male scenario. 25 will go to psych majors and female, 25 to psych and male.

I have our original hypothesis (that Connor will be rated as more depressed/having a bigger prob. among non-psych majors), that non-psych majors will be less likely to encourage Connor to seek help (due to people feeling less comfortable discussing depression with males), and that Connor will be perceived as having more control over his condition than Katherine among non-psych majors. For the question, How embarrassed do you think Katherine/Connor might be of her/his condition? I think both psych and non-psych majors will believe Connor is more embarassed. I believe this because I think people are either a) less accepting of men displaying emotion or b) at least aware of the fact that society is less accepting of men displaying emotion. This is the complete hypothesis. Here are the surveys I will be handing out.

I will need a title page included with this as well as a bibliography in APA format with all references being cited in the introduction to support the hypothesis.

There is no minimum number of citations as long as every reference is used in the introduction and refers to support of stigma and gender in depresssion.

I will attach a powerpoint and email it to you with the research proposal that I did on powerpoint. There has been another dependent variable added to that and that is how the psych or non psych majors would rate Connor or Katherines need for support or help. I would like the introduction to include the independent and dependent variables. A literature review section is not necessary for this paper as all of the citations will be in the intro. In the methodology section I need the expected results, I would like for the graphs from the powerpoint to be put here.
