In conclusion, ongoing educational programs are critical in the focus of moral reasoning through vital improvement of ethical behavior among police officers. Code of ethics and the office' oaths are issues that the XY Police Agency should address. Top management should implement and define the living documents of the oath and code through a show of commitment towards their course. All XY Police Agency departments in the country need to adopt the overall code of ethics, as well as an oath in its policies and processes. All departments should consider a mandatory inclusion of officers to have an awareness of the subject matter based on training and the content of the documents. Such departments should also hold continuous and annual ceremonies where officers are involved in the renewal of the oath and code of ethics. Officers require a comprehensive education and training for early detection of unethical issues. The concept of self-interest is a critical impediment of a person's ethical awareness. The paper illustrates that people face such issues through helping and assisting others and not serving their special interests through behaving ethically and doing good.
