Community Assessment: Village of New Paltz, NYCommunity assessment is basically the process of collecting, examining and recording information that is regarding the requirements of an individual community and the volumes or assets that are also presently obtainable in a certain community in order to meet those requirements. A community assessment starts by summoning a cluster of inhabitants, creating a vision and arranging the matters that necessitate change. This cooperative exertion among local citizens offers a groundwork for a community valuation that comprises experts who have know-how on subjects and others who are probable to be influenced by the alterations that a person is planning (such as children and parents.) the vision delivers an emphasis for the community assessment -- a clear depiction of where the individual would like to be at in the future. Ordered changes are utilized in order to choose the data that a person will need to collectr in order to make decisions that create change. Demographics
When the census was taking around the year of 2000, there were roughly around 12,830 people, 4,455 households, and 2,347 people that were living in the town. The population bulk was around 378.4 people that was per square mile (146.1/km2). There were roughly 4,679 units of housing which is an average concentration of 138.0 per square mile (53.3/km2). There are now about 4,422 homes out of which 25.0% have children that are all up under the age of 18 that are still staying with them, 39.4% were couples that are married and those that are just living together, 8.0% were single parent homes with no husband that was staying with them, and 45.2% were what is considered non-families. 30.1% of all families were comprised of persons and 7.4% had a house were someone was living by themselves who were around the age of 65 years of age or older. In the Village of New Paltz, the average family size is still roughly 2.35 and the typical family extent was 2.88.
In Village of New Paltz, the population appears to be spreading out with 15.8% that are all under the age of 18, 29.4% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 18.0% from 44 to 65, and 9.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The town has a median age which is roughly 26 years. For every 100 women there were 85.6 men. For every 100 women age 18 and over, there were 82.0 that were males.
In the Village of New Paltz, the average revenue for most of the homes in the town were $39,442, and the average salary for a family was approximately $55,537. If you are able to use the contents of systems thinking of micro, mezzo, & macro to analyze your neighborhood, the you will receive competent.
You must also use other concepts from systems theory or other theoretical prospective to describe how these elements relate to each other demonstrating your understanding of how systems interact and relate to one another.
Finally, to present your use of conceptual frameworks on advanced competency you want to be able to use theory to describe the system as a whole.
