Trochim and Donnelly, (2007) argue that one of the best strategies that can be used to reduce bias is to allow external researchers to verify the data analysis in order to reduce the data error.

Findings and Interpretation of Findings

The results are presented in mean, and percentages. To enhance visual presentation of the results, the researchers present the results in graphical and tabular form. The interpretation of the findings reveals different techniques the hospitals use in preventing the CAUTI. First, the authors present the results in the tabular form revealing the characteristics of the hospitals that all respondents work. The results present 75 respondents who participate in the survey. Based on the overall results, 88% of the respondents are from urban hospitals and 74% are working in the teaching hospitals. Moreover, the authors use the percentages to present the method the respondents employ in preventing CAUTI in their respective hospitals. However, the overall results provide the accurate reflection of research validity and reality because the authors present the results of the training, policies and education that the respondents employ in managing and preventing the CAUTI in their respective hospitals. It is very critical to understand that the training, policies and education are the effective tools to prevent CAUTI. Without implementing appropriate training and education, it may be challenging for hospitals to prevent CAUTI in their respective hospitals. Nevertheless, the results are valid because the authors reveal that 64% of the respondents agree that they are implementing appropriate training to prevent the CAUTI. Moreover, 72% state that they are prov

iding education for their staff to enhance their greater understanding on the CAUTI prevention, while 69% have already completed various training on CAUTI's prevention.

More importantly, the authors present the limitations that can affect their results.

Fink et al. (2012) state "Our results must be interpreted in light of the several limitations. First, our sample of hospitals is not representative of hospitals nationwide, for example, NICHE hospitals are overwhelmingly not-for-profit hospitals." ( (Fink, Gilmartin, Richard, et 2012 719).

Other limitation provided is that the respondents might have been interested in CAUTI prevention which could make them presenting overall positive pictures of CAUTI prevention in their respective hospitals. Moreover, the findings cannot be applicable to all the hospitals in the United States. Despite the limitations identified in the research, the authors have been able to provide a logical presentation in the research findings because the results can assist nursing professionals to understand the strategies to prevent the CAUTI during the nursing practice.

Conclusion

The study provides a critique of research article that reveals different strategies 75 respondents used in preventing CAUTI in their respective hospitals. One of the importance of a thesis statement is that it provides a leeway that a researcher should follow in achieving the research objectives. The outcome of research findings can guide nursing professionals on the appropriate strategy to prevent CAUTI since nursing professionals are part of the important healthcare professionals that should carry out a prevention of CAUTI. More importantly, the study enhances a greater understanding of nursing professionals on the appropriate policies and procedures to employ in preventing CAUTI. Despite some shortcomings identified in the article, the study has also been able to enhance my greater understanding on the policies and procedures that can be employed in managing and preventing the CAUTI within a healthcare environment.
